Heavy Anchors
Heavy Anchors is a blues/folk/classic rock sounding band, with a great emphasis on improvisation during live performance.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Friends since youth, in 2005, guitarist Will Dana and pianist Jeffrey Hechler had the idea of playing together. From this new musical bond, the two spent a great deal of time learning covers, and just jamming. Eventually they decided to get organized. Hechler switched to bass in 2006 to further compliment the sound, and Danny Cohen joined new band (now calling themselves Oak) on drums. Cohen left 2007, and Dana and Hechler reformed the band with Drummer Brian Aret and keyboardist Greg Berg. The band changed its name to The Light at this point and then later to the Heavy Anchors.
