Heavenly Host
The hip-hop crew Heavenly Host (or God's Army) is one of the most recognized and respected underground crews in Manila. Heavenly Host is composed of three MCs, namely Apoc the Death Architect, Dhictah, and Malachi the Artisan. Along with early members Cerezzo Vinicio and Optimus the Prime Objective, Heavenly Host is known for its conscious and revolutionary songs since its conception in 2004. Influenced by artists like Wu-tang Clan, Jedi Mind Tricks, Immortal Technique and Pamilia Dimagiba, Heavenly Host carries on hardcore underground hip-hop tradition. With Apoc's demented lyricism and bone-shattering punchlines, Dhictah's rugged street-style rap, and Malachi's mind-twisting lyrical display, the group crafted a new and original form of hip-hop music as displayed in classics like Crisystem, Rebolusyon, and Puppet Masters. Representing the indie label Kampo Teroritmo, the group preserves the true meaning of being independent through uncompromised and unbiased music. The same mission is the reason behind instances like screaming "Fuck the government" at a wholesome audience in Tiendesitas and unitedly shouting "Fuck commercialize" infront of commercial/mainstream artists, making Heavenly Host one of the most powerful hip-hop acts that mainstream Philippines has never heard of.
