Band/artist history
Heaven & Earth is a blues-based rock & roll band formed in 1996 by British guitarist Stuart Smith after being offered a record deal by Samsung. The first album entitled "Stuart Smith's Heaven & Earth" featured some of rock's top vocalists such as Bon Jovi's Richie Sambora, Joe Lynn Turner (formerly of Rainbow) & Glenn Hughes (formerly of Deep Purple). The album has been hailed as a classic rock mainstay & has become a much sought after item amongst collectors. A second deal from Frontier Records followed & a more cohesive line-up was established including drummer Richie Onuri who previously worked with Rick Derringer, Louis Johnson, Bobby Kimball (Toto) & Keith Emerson (Emerson Lake & Palmer). This second album entitled "Windows To The World" was produced by Howard Leese of Heart, released in 2001 & again was received with rave reviews in classic rock circles, duly increasing the band's fanbase. A worldwide tour supported this release & was enthusiastically received. A third album is in the pipeline at the band's own Winecellar Studios for release on Black Star Records which is also the band's own label & fits well in today's independent market. Other signings to the label will follow. The line-up now includes ex-Rough Cutt & Quiet Riot vocalist Paul Shortino who is a master in the style of Paul Rodgers & Robert Plant, yet retains an original & unique sultry blues style of his own. Meanwhile, the E.P. "A Taste Of Heaven" is available now including 4 tracks from the forthcoming "Screaming For Redemption" album, together with earlier works including the contributions from Messrs Sambora, Turner & Hughes. Heaven & Earth sticks to its' guns in a corporate pop world, by continuing to blaze its' own trail of classic rock of the highest standard, proving that a vibrant market continues to exist for this genre.
