HEARHERE

HEARHERE is a german electro-pop-duo. Originally planned as a solo effort by Les Mercredis-Keyboardist Marco Petracca in sping 2007, after his Band fell into a hiatus. Crystin, a singer songwriter from Düsseldorf, was initially involved as a guest vocalists, but when both realised that her contribution fitted more than perfect into marcos rough electronic drafts, HEARHERE suddenly evolved into a band. Their first digital only release, the 10 track Breathing EP, released on june 13th 2008, was mastered by Kai Blankenberg, is available on their website. HEARHERE are currently working on their first full length album, set for release in autumn 2008. A remix EP with new renditions of their songs by different musicians is also in the works.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Songs can be like little journeys. They bring us away from here, to places where everything is different and maybe better. But sometimes the route changes, the schedule is thrown overboard and you suddenly catch yourself right inside a big adventure, that wasnt planned although you might have just booked the small package holiday. In the beginning HEARHERE was meant to be a small vacation, a relaxing trip from the everlasting hunt through the tight paths of band music. The kind of music that Marco Petracca performes with the actually not so unknown electro punk band Les Mercredis (up to now). The destination of this side-trip was to catch a deep and relaxing electronical breath from the straining band-outfit. Maybe accompanied by onetwothree old and new travelling acquaintances who might stretch it all to the size of an album. One of these people he met during his voyage was Crystin. The songwriter from Düsseldorf, who has perfectly put herself into scene with her own pop music and outstanding crystalline voice, was more than impressed by Marcos raw electronical drafts and concepts and after just two finished tracks it was more than clear that this trip was evolving into a big adventure. And that both protagonists would take the ride together from there on. Under one name, with one destination in mind. Lovers of loudmouthed electro-sounds, glittering fashion-pop or digital thunderstorms might suddenly find themselves on the wrong lane. HEARHERE is sensitive computer pop, fed by the escapist urge of its creators, whilst ignoring the usual pose and cliché. Rather than jumping on old wagons, its all about being the vehicle. HEARHERE is the kind of electronic music, which is always trying to explore new boundaries, whilst being brought back to songstructures by Crystins intimate vocals. A kind of music, that is keeping its composure, turning its back to the classical pop song, whilst still having strong roots in the grounds, where all the good songs grow. It might have been destiny that these two have found their way together, on order to exceed their own musical limits, instead of blowing them up (as originally planned). The HEARHERE report of the album-sized journey will follow 2008. Whoever wants to come along should make sure to check out the forthcoming EP, which will see the light of day as soon as Crystin and Marco are back from their big adventure.
