Healy & Orr is a High Energy Acoustic Duo plain and simple.
These guys put together an entertaining live show that features tight vocal harmony, fine musicianship and an excellent rapport with the audience.
These guys have been playing together for years. In high school it was a metal band called "THE FAZE" playing Priest and Maiden tunes. A few hangovers and lead singers later the band was called "GREED" and played a hard rock mix of originals and covers. Orr split for awhile to go on the road as a frontman for a band called "THE WHISKEY TRAIN". During this time Healy took solo acoustic gigs and Orr would sit in with him when home for a break. Orr soon took a gig as a drummer/vocalist with an alternative band called "ZIPPERBELLY". This act was a minor success producing 1 CD that scored on the college charts while also placing 3 songs on TV shows and pilots. By now, Healy's show were becoming quite popular and Orr was still sitting in on a regular basis. When the "BELLY" split up, HEALY & ORR began writing songs and playing on a frequent basis, filling up bars everywhere in Southern Ontario. They have shared the stage with many successful acts including 54-40, Big Wreck and Trooper. As a payback to all the fans who have supported them the last few years, HEALY & ORR recorded a live CD on Canada Day 2001. This disc, entitled "Sportin' Wood Live" captures the energy, the crowd, and the love of music that these guys have. Work has begun on another disc of HEALY & ORR's special brand of HIGH ENERGY ACOUSTIC music which will be released in the winter of 2002. This disc will be all original so people will finally get to hear a few of the gems from their live show. The future should see a lot more live shows and perhaps a Canadian Tour if these guys secure some distribution for the new release.
Cheers from HEALY & ORR, keep sportin' wood
