Hayze Band

"It's a mix of acoustic, it's a mix of rock, but most importantly it's a mix of our lives. Our main goal is to have fun with this stuff." - Aaron Hayes when asked what inspires the bands music. It all started in the Fall of 2004 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Singer/songwriter Aaron Hayes and drummer Bill Bradley met while playing in previous bands throughout Pittsburgh, and had continued to jam together informally. With the urging of friends and family, the group was encouraged to start booking local gigs. Before this could be done, several pieces of the puzzle still remained open. In the winter of 2005, Garrett Derhofer (guitar) and Rich Vardzel (bass) were brought on board to settle the foundation of what would later become Hayze. Rich had to leave the band shortly after to fulfill familial obligations, but Hayze became even stronger with the addition of T.R. Beeson in October of 2005. Hayze began recording their music and honing their performing skills in the basement of Bill?s house with the blessing of his wife. With an extensive collection of songs from Aaron?s solo days, Hayze began to fill in the intricate pieces of what would become the foundation for their live shows. Slow and steady is the motto, as these boys work hard to spread their words to the masses through their music. As the process has moved on, all of the guys have relished in their roles, each creating masterful pieces of work to complete these songs. The future of Hayze remains in their hands, and songwriting and creation by all will become an integral part in the bands growth. With songs that remind listeners of the time when music meant something, Hayze hopes to continue to build on a fan base that is ever expanding. It's all about having fun and being free. By mixing good songs, a unique voice, and electrifying shows, the sky is the limit for these four boys from the 'Burgh. "When something grabs you and makes you jump and down, when something moves you or just makes you glad to be alive, you want to share it, pass it along, shout it out to the world." That's what Hayze is all about.
