Hi There, Harriet Ames here. I'm fairly new to the net, but not new to songwriting. Been writing off and on since I was 7 or 8. (but you won't find those early gems here)
About 2 years ago I started co-writing with a few very talented lyricists. Those songs are most of what you'll find here. Although I will probably add a few of my own over time as well.
Band/artist history
I've been writing since I was 7 or 8. And started performing at open mics about 15-20 years ago. Done a couple concerts, but have been concentrating on just writing for a while. Would like to get back into more performing.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I have. Right now, I'm still learning about my new home here in Texas.But performing live, especially in a small intimate setting where I can connect with the audience is what I love.
Your musical influences
Guess I'd have to say the biggest influences on my music were Peter, Paul and Mary... and Joan Baez. Up until I listened to their music I was only making up little ditties for no one but me. (well let's be real here, I was only 10 or 12) But that's where my roots lie. and no matter how much I might delve into other styles, there will always be a bit of that rootstock showing.
