Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys
Welcome to the Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys Soundclick Website. I hope that you enjoy the music! I was raised by two very loving musical parents with two equally talented musical siblings. My early musical training was on the piano taking lessons but my real passion was the drums. Having no lessons in drumming, I developed my own unique approaches. One day I heard my father say that music like metal wasn't music at all, but rather, "musical gymnastics". He wasn't really trying to flatter the genre, but he was truly correct in a beautiful way. Music is most beautiful when the writers/musicians take great and beautiful risks every time they play.
HDNB is never the same show twice. The music is as original as I am, and I have been absolutely blessed to play with the finest talent on earth. Every person who has played with me has helped me to write, arrange, and texture it all.
Enjoy yourself!
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I formed Hardy Drew and the Nancy Boys about 8 years ago for my compositions and emotional outlet. I just cant get enough of playing and I'll be HDNB'ing until I die.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Playing live is the absolute ultimate thrill and satisfaction that could ever be possible in life for me. When I play, whether live or practice or whatever, I throw everything I have into the emotion of the music and the people who have come to see us or play with us. The music becomes a dance of instruments, wildly moving, screaming, each musician barely holding on by the fingernails. Yeah, I like it. Live is ALL special moments...
