Hamzah Hamid

Tyrone Bundy AKA Hamzah Hamid, a devote Muslim brings spirituality to any track he blesses. Hamzah is a star waiting to shine. A practicing Muslim who's lyrics reflect his strong belief in God, he has no fear of attacking the issues of today’s society. He possesses the ability to overpower the track with his mental and physical attributes. With songs like "The Streets", "Senseless Bloodshed", and "America", he holds the "powers that be" accountable for the "madness and sin" that has become the norm to the inner-city "prisoners".
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Born Tyrone Bundy on September 9, 1976, Hamzah grew up in Pennsauken, NJ. His interest in music began when he was in the third grade. He quickly learned how to play the piano then later in high school he switched to the trumpet. This interest was also heightened from spending many hours listening to some of his parent’s old records. Artists such as James Brown, The Ohio Players and Prince were some of his favorites. His love for music, singing and lyrics gravitated to the hip hop world which was already on the bubble and about to explode. On his way to school, he would study the works of some of the Old School Hip Hop greats such as Kool Moe Dee, Slick Rick, LL Cool J, Eric B and Rakim and Grandmaster Flash and the Furious 5 to name a few. In the tenth grade he began writing his own lyrics and creating his own beats and has never turned back. He attended first Pennsauken and then Camden Catholic High Schools but due to the rising challenges in the neighborhood he lived, his parents had him spend his remaining high school years in Long Island, NY. where he graduated from West Babylon with flying colors.
