Hamlet

Imagine if an early 90s Future Sound of London had a love affair with the Knife yet lusted after Coil and grew up on equal parts Prince, Vangelis, Aphex Twin and Autechre. Eclectic? Perhaps. Inspiration sees no boundaries. One cant help but notice a very cinematic experience omnipresent throughout the album that Hamlet attributes to his love of film scores. Heavy Is The Head That Wears The Crown delivers a conceptual journey through manipulated sounds and stripped down textures rich with emotional impact: an aural journey that once experienced can never be forgotten. Ultimately making a very pertinent statement in a world where the concept album seems to be headed for extinction.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Heavy Is The Head That Wears The Crown may be the debut album by Hamlet Minassians, but let it be known that he is not a newcomer to the electronic music scene. He has been creating music for many years under various pseudonyms such as dbas(s)ed or as half of Radio Jizz (other half is Edgar Lopez of Decoding Jesus). But now is the time he chose to release his first concept album under his namesake.
