Haggis was/is a Celtic Rock band from Cornwall, Ontario Canada that performed between 1997 and 2001. Haggis performed all over Ontario, Quebec and ventured into the United States. The members of Haggis are: Nicholas Seguin - lead vocals Gilles Levac - keyboards Jeff Barker - fiddle / electric fiddle Jason Mitchell - drums, backing vocals Glenn Forrester - bass guitar, backing vocals Brent Santin - Irish flute, tin-whistle, bodhran, bones.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We played all over Canada, and sometimes in the United States!
What equipment do you use?
Irish flute, tin whistle, bodhran, fiddle, bones, guitar, bass, drum kit, piano.
Anything else?
Yeah, please don't confuse us with "Enter the Haggis" from Toronto, Ontario. We aren't them. Nick (lead vocals) now does professional theatre acting and has recorded his own music (www.nicholasmatthew.com). Glen Forrester has played in the successful band 'The Barstool Prophets', 'Hadrian's Wall' and does sound for 'The Glengarry Bhoys'. Brent Santin has played in the bands 'The Spleen Bishops', 'The Barley Mob', 'The Hoolies' and 'The Duncan Cameron Band'. Brent has been part of two other bands which are also hosted here on Soundclick: 'GreanStalk', a traditional Celtic Duo featuring the Irish flute and 'The Ovoids', a more contemporary pop music group. Just do a search for these two bands to hear them. Brent Santin also makes wooden Irish flutes and has published an on-line article on bodhran making (see the website link on this page).
