Hadassah Lee
I sing and songwrite on keyboard, which is a miracle for me, since I wrote some poetry in college. Thank G-d I am sharing my prayers, musings and dreams through music in Israel, now.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
In Los Angeles 2003, I played at Highland Grounds Cafe and Canter's on Fairfax. In my hometown Seattle, I showed up at a few open mikes at Third Place Books. Since I converted to Judaism and made aliyah to Israel in 2005, I play live concerts for women only. But I hope to share my recordings all over the world.
Your musical influences
Tori Amos, Sarah McLachlan, Indigo Girls, Vanessa Carlton, Neshama Carlebach and Rachel Factor
What equipment do you use?
Roland E-9 piano keyboard
Anything else?
The Torah says, music is the language of angels. That's why it speaks to everyone. I use personal stories and try to give them over universally. My Hebrew-speaking audiences still understand my Chinese-American-Jewish-women struggles to find myself, find the way I can relate best to Gd and be a healer and inspiration to others.
