Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Bill, Jimmy, and Dave always wanted to be in a band. That had been their drive to play their instruments as long as they had. Just over a year ago, around May 2002, they formed Geared Towards Nowhere. After many months of practicing and hard work, they decided to write a 5 song demo before Dave left for Minnesota U.
Along the road, Alden, contacted GTN and asked if we needed a bass player. His attitude and personallity blended right in with the other three, so now the band only lacks one tiny, insignificant member: the singer. We volunteered jimmy and gave him the role of singing for the demo until we find a good singer.
Your musical influences
Jimmy generally tends to listen to anything that comes out on the radio, and leans towards alternative music
Bill listens to a wide range of rock, ranging from 3 Doors down to Dream Theater, from Pantera to Steve Vai, from Meta- you get the idea
Dave listens to alternative as well, but has a more "refined" taste in music. Along with guitar, Dave plays the piano and his major influence is Rachmaninov along with many other famous composers
I think it would be safe to say that Metallica is an influence in all the band members.
