G S ADVANCE
Just when you thought New York Hip Hop was gone forever, lost permanently in an identity crisis, G.S. ADVANCE emerges. This multi-talented MC/Producer is quite simply put, a problem.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
The Long Island/Queens native has one word for the music industry; “Prepare.” With the release of his 2007 mixtape ADVANCE CLASSES, (which many listeners instantly deemed a classic) G.S. has both the streets and the internet buzzing like dragonflies. His follow-up ADVANCE CLASSES:2, which dropped in mid’08, already has people arguing over which one is hotter. It’s steadily becoming certain that this kid’s got the magic touch.
The half black/half white master of wordplay has been rhyming since the days of junior high, honing his craft to perfection. Undefeated on the battle circuit, ADVANCE is also a beat crafting extraordinaire. As one half of the production duo SUNBOOGIE, G.S. is sure to be keeping heads ringing for a while. His song writing skills are on another level altogether, (With topics ranging from; police brutality, the last day of the world, and falling in love with a ghost, to hooking up with two women in the club) one listen is all it takes to know ADVANCE is a problem.
Currently residing in Jamaica, Queens (Though he reps various parts of New York), G.S. is hard at work crafting what he says will be a masterpiece.
“I’m a lab rat. The type to be in the studio all day and come out with five bangers at the end. I’m actually working on ten projects right now, but the first you’ll hear is a trilogy. I’m not calling them mixtapes or albums, I’m calling them audio books. The first to drop will be THE PROBLEM BOOK. My album will come after those drop. It’s called THEY MADE ME DO IT! Watch me have the world on smash with that!”
With anticipation rising for his future projects, including a movie on the horizon, it’s no wonder some are proclaiming G.S. ADVANCE to be the best up and coming player in the game. With that said, keep a lookout for the future, and prepare
