Groovis Jones
Hello to All! You have reached the current site for the rock variety cover band and original project, Groovis Jones!
The name Groovis Jones was taken from a trio project from circa. 2002 back in Port Huron, MI. Since then, I, the singer and guitar player, have moved to the Grand Rapids area along with my drummer (brother) John. We have decided to keep this band name going. Thus far, the main writing force behind all of the songs, has been me, Bryan benson, and my brother John Benson. But finally we are pleased to announce the recent arrival of esteemed bass player, keys player, and a great all around singer, Johnny Kramer!
Our songs that are being written are more of a compilation of the writing styles of many different genres of music played from 3 very eccentric and passionate musicians. We write bass oriented songs reminiscent of Les Claypool and Primus to more grungier rock stuff more like STP or Alice in Chains. There are also more pop influenced songs as well. So this band really doesn't have a musical face as of right now and I couldn't be happier!

Have you performed in front of an audience?
When it comes to our rock cover gigs, we are currently 2/3 of the way there when it comes to material learned thus far, andshould be ready and playing as soon as late May in local bars and pubs across the greater Grand Rapids area and into other counties as well.
For our full on original music gigs, everything is geared towards writing and recording till enough material can be created to support a true live show. But I can tell you things are moving quicker than expected so it won't be long!
