A remix album of Phoenix, Arizona's GRIME's "Let Freedom Ring With A Buckshot" By Jaron Ikner AkA Black 1 of the Hometown Heroes out of Tucson, Arizona.... We are in a brutal time right now, With War and Corruption running rampant with no end in sight. When I think about how angry the people are becoming, I think of the late 60's- mid 70's. During this time the people were completely fed up with the Political adminstration and many took to the streets to say how they felt... one of the most powerful tools during this time was the music. Artist like Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton and many, many more, used their music to express and relate the times of the generation. I wanted to pay homage to that, while at the same time remaining relavant to today. This is where GRIME steps in, his lyrics are the spark needed to get the people motivated enough to actually get off there ass and start doing something. So i decided to fuse the Revolutionary sounds of the 60's and 70's to GRIME's Revolutionary Voice of today. "The Price of Freedom" Contains 4 songs(out of 9) that use Samples from that time period including: Janis Joplin (Piece of My Heart), The Rolling Stones (Paint it, Black) The Beatles (When my Guitar Gently Weeps) and Eric Clapton (Layla). A few of the songs on the album have Conversational Intro for you to shed more light on the topic of the song. There are a a couple of appreances by me (Black Hearts and One piece) and a Mash Up featuring Nas (Street Scriputres)..... CHECK for BRAND NEW MATREIAL FROM GRIME ON NOV. 7th at PROJECTGUERILLA.COM
