Tread Softly Tread Softly

This was actually written as an instrumental unlike most of my tunes which started out as songs and I have simply recorded the instrumental version.

Whilst I'm uploading piano tracks I might as well include them all. This one also started out in life as a song and this is the instrumental version.

It's a terrible thing when your head is full of music and you just don't have enough talent or skill or whatever to make what comes out sound like it does when it's still inside. Still you have to try...
Band/artist history
What's to say. It's pretty much me in dark rooms trying to balance all the other demands of life with the need to play music. I'm constantly fighting the battle between practising various instruments (mainly guitar and keyboards) with the desire to write. The trouble is, the writing always wins so my playing doesn't improve much.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
No.
Your musical influences
They go way back. First record I ever remember is Buddy Holly quickly followed by the Beatles (that'll give you some idea how old I am). Formative years were dominated by the likes of Nick Drake, King Crimson, Jethro Tull and Fairport Convention. Then along came Genesis (especially the PG years), Pink Floyd etc. Latterly it's been Radiohead, Muse, some Divine Comedy and Nick Cave. And if that lot hasn't put you off - noting will.
What equipment do you use?
Very basic. Yamaha keyboard to Cubase. Guitars are an old Espana, an Aria and a Takamine.
Anything else?
I've come to realise that a good part of the reason that I'm fairly happy in life is that I get all the negative and melancholic stuff out when I'm writing music so there is a real dichotomy (oh I love using that word) between my character and my music. You have been warned!
