Welcome to my Soundclick page! I'm just some guy from Massachusetts making music in his spare time. Have a listen! (Click on the "music" link at right.) Please give me some feedback at my message board if you can...I see that people listen to my tunes from time to time, but I have no idea who you are - I'd be happy to hear from you! If you want to hear more, I have a few more songs at my other webpage - the link is below. Thanks for stopping by!
Band/artist history
Band history? Uhhh...OK...I was born in 1970...and...uhhhh...I took some piano lessons and stuff...and...look, there's too many details here...
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Never play live. All my music is produced right here at home on my little computer...
Your musical influences
I've really been enjoying Sigur Ros and Radiohead lately. Joe Jackson is one of my favorites. I also dig Daft Punk, Bjork, mu-ziq, various electronica, vintage Stevie Wonder, lots of jazz, the Neptunes...I like anything, really. Howard Jones was my teenage hero - I don't listen to his music much anymore, but his masterful synth-pop arrangements in the 80s are what led me to try to write my own music.
What equipment do you use?
I produce all music on my computer using FL Studio. Almost all sounds are produced from samples or VST plugins. I use mostly freeware plugins, but have purchased a few commercial ones. I got a little Oxygen 8 MIDI controller sitting on my desk for easy access, but do more serious playing on my 88-key Studiologic SL-990 XP. My audio/MIDI interface is a Presonus Firebox, and my monitors are Behringer Truths, model 2030A.
Anything else?
Other interests include mathematics and origami. Please visit for more stuff. Oh, and I think I should put my real name here for the search engines...in case anyone is looking for me. Dan Gries. Daniel Gries.
