Gravity Test is a mixture of Horns and Rock based in Austin, Texas. We're not your average Texas band, so if you're looking for cadillacs and ten-gallon hats, you're barking up the wrong tree. A rhythmic charge of Rock with Trumpet and Sax melodies, we'll have you dancing in no time. Gravity Test tackles every genre and style with precision and feeling, and announces to the world that we are on a mission: Don't Stop the Rock. **Breaking News: Um... so we just broke up recently, pretty shortly after finishing our album. But you can order the album on our website and listen to 3 of the songs there: http://www.gravitytest.com Our guitar and drummer are starting an indie rock band. Band/artist history
Gravity Test was originally the name of a secret research project that was begun in 1980 in a hidden castle on a deserted tropical island. Hideous genetic experiments were carried out to create what would hopefully be the Most Powerful Force in Rock and Roll Ever. Those experiments failed. Twenty-three years later... Having been forcibly removed from that deserted tropical island, the remnants of those hideous genetic experiments, BJ Golding, Robert Harpold, Marcus Kruger, Matt Kay, Dale Morris, and the mysterious SpaceKeg, formed a group to play the music that they had always been destined to play, and, harkening back to their origins, they called that group Gravity Test. They immediately began working out original material. not long after hammering a few tunes out, Gravity Test parted ways with their drummer, Mark. He took off in a sailing ship to see if the world was really flat, and found that it was. He fell off. Many years Gravity Test scouted high and low, and there, in the dumpster in a shady part of town, they found Tony. Abandoned by his parents at age 3, he'd led a life of hard knocks, and, armed with his V-Drums made from old soup cans and chicken bones, needed a way to vent the frustrations of a misspent youth. The band liked him immediately. Shortly thereafter, and just as GT was gaining momentum, another blow to the group came with the loss of their bassist, Dale Morris. Again, the future of Gravity Test looked bleak. Several bass players were put to the test including the gifted Caleb Bullen, but nothing seemed to work. It seemed that all was lost for our intrepid saviours of rock. Until, that is, one fateful day, a green Jeep Cherokee pulled up to the practice space and immediately blew out his front tire on a loose stone. Concidence? Nay, my friends, Nay. After getting the band quite drunk and forcing everyone to sign forms which we didn't understand, Barton Bowers became the newest member of Gravity Test. With the band now fully assembled, Gravity Test now spends their days sleeping in coffins, and their nights honing their dangerous-looking rockshow for unsuspecting audiences everywhere.
