Gravity Productions is Amateur Trance producer Gilbert Hewett.
Formed in early 2007 Gravity Productions (www.they2tdreamhosters.com/trance) in affiliation with Wild Child Music (www.wildchildmusic.com.au). Presents local Perth, Western Australian Artists with management services and conductivity.
Gravity Productions officially to Gilbert Hewett is a base name for him to promote his own personal mixes of the electronica and more specifically hard trance variety, along with live events and hip hop/R&B beats mixing.
Through the year of 2007 Gravity Productions looks forward to portraying a great image for dance and trance productions at a high and signable level.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Gravity Productions is 20 year old Gilbert Hewett from Perth, Western Australia, Australia.
A producer of the trance genre for just over 5 years Gravity has sought to further his experiences and abilities as a producer and has taken up beats servicing for all types of music, this including R&B/Hip Hop and various other styles of Electronica (D&B etc).
It all started in 2002 when Gravity went by the name of AniG back then and got a hold of a copy of Fruityloops 3.0.1. Long story short, AniG quickly got a grasp and feel for trance music of which he wasn't associated with before. His prior taste in rap music faded and his urge to create trance music grew.
Keeping it fairly consistent for the next 4 years music production was only a fleeting dream for AniG.
It wasn't until his remix of Organ Donors - Locked Tight in 2007, that AniG found himself producing music of a produced level. From this day AniG decided to change his name to Gravity and take music production more seriously.
His work has gained acclaim and effort through less than 6 months of work and Gravity now looks to offer his services to locals around him and hopes to promote his music enough to get signed by a major record label.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
No live plays till date. Mostly online trance mixes and special guest dj'ing online.
Playing live will most probably come in late 2007 or in the year of 2008.
Your musical influences
My musical influences would include almost everything trance. Tech trance, Psy Trance, Goa Trance, Dark Trance, Hard Trance, Dark Psy, Hard Psy, DnB, Jump Style you name it, even Euro Dance.
I'm also into a lot of Japanese Rock, and a lot of asian music.
What equipment do you use?
For the moment I am using FL Studio 7.0.1, on a 3.2 Ghz, 2 gig of ram and about 700 gigs of HDD space. 7900 GS Nvidia Graphics card (I think...). All of which will soon be upgraded. I am also using 2 Numark Turn Tables, but I don't use them much.
All productions are created in FL Studio and mastered in FL Studio, with a few various vst. i.e z3ta, v-station, fm7, legacy cell, are my most used ones.
Anything else?
Asides from mixing and producing trance music, I'm learning tagalog (native language of the Philippines), Japanese (native language of Japan) and learning how to play the drums.
I have an initiative to form a band when I go back to university to complete my degree in Engineering.
Though my name says otherwise I am actually a mixed Asian. (Filipino - Anglo Indian) I was given my name to avoid Asian stereotypes :D hahaha I love my mother.
