Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Singer / songwriter Grant Duncan is based in Auckland, NZ and has his roots firmly entrenched in the UK indie music world. After extended stints in the abroad he has built up a catalogue of independent releases and has performed live with a number of rock/pop outfits.
As front-man for Tokyo-based Pavement Candy from 2004-2008, Duncan wrote and performed with the band over 50 original numbers at hip indie venues such as The Rock Factory in Roppongi, The Fiddler in Takanobaba and The Ruby room in Shibuya. The group released independently 3 full studio albums that they self-produced and released via their website and at live gigs.
Since returning to NZ in 2008, Duncan has been busy writing and recording at his home studio Mt Eden Road Studios, and after a brief stint in Malaysia in 2010-11, released Stories from Cyber, a 9-track journal of his experiences is South-East Asia.
In August 2011 he released a 4-track EP Two Birds One Stone that was reviewed in risingmag.com in LA.
Currently he is working with former Pavement Candy bandmate Mark Whiteman on their 2nd release as The Audio Justice. The album is scheduled for a December 2012 release.
