Graeme Laidlaw
It's just me, my guitar, and some spare time. Trying to write some decent songs.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've been learning guitar since I was about 11. I've been in a few bands, I've done all sorts. This is me trying to do more.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I haven't played live in years, apart from at small parties with friends and the like. Playing live is a fantastic experience, and one that I'd love to do more.
Your musical influences
I have so many influences. All music that you hear influences you one way or another. My songs here are mainly acoustic with a folk edge, mainly because that's what's easiest to do with just a guitar and voice. Maybe I'll expand more when I have the resources. I guess the likes of Counting Crows, Wilco, Tom McRae, Hayden Desser, Dar Williams and Dave Mathews Band would count as influences, although I would never claim to be as good as any of them.
What equipment do you use?
My guitar's a Takamine EN 30C. Yup.
Anything else?
Spork.
