Song: Canon In D Major
I believe the ensemble performing here (on Pachelbel's Canon in D for strings and continuo, T. 337) is the Jean-Francois Paillard Chamber Orchestra. •

Song: Divertimento for Band
To give credit where it is due, I believe the composer of this Divertimento for Band is Vincent Persichetti.

This cheerful piece was for many years the theme to William F. Buckley's PBS-TV program "The Firing Line." Buckley loved Bach's music and was a devoted amateur on the harpsichord.

Song: An American Symphony
Here again the percussion drowns out the rest only when they are tacit. Such a waste.

Song: Air Force One: Theme
John Williams conducting the LSO. Can't go wrong here.
Williams as a conductor of his own music reaches hights
few other conductors can reach, with one exception.
Lenard Bernstein. The LSO brings to the table their famous
brass, persussion and the intensity of the strings.

Song: Fanfare for a New Era
Yes, the brass is here and playing very well. However the Conductor allows the reed section to explore a melody
counter to the great percussion section.

Song: The Sinfonians (USAF)
I was attending the University of South Florida and was part
of Dr. Williams composition and conducting clinic.
THIS RECORDING WAS THE WAY HE CONDUCTED THIS GREAT PIECE. He stated that it was like the stagecoach rider who had to hold the horses back. So many who attempt this piece drives at the same speed and volume.
This is one of the great recordings, conducting, Wind Ensemble's and patience that I have heard. Well Done!!

Song: Rocky Point Holiday
Maybe it's me but the melodies seem lost. This could due to the placing of the mic's however the baritone player is good but overpowering. I say that as that was my instrument.

Song: Ride
A very high potent composition and the wind ensemble attacks it as the conductor drives the many time changes.
Reeds stand out, not to be left behind. This peace will be overlooked by many ensembles based on the technical
changes.

Not Lohengrin - it's from Tchaikovsky's The Snow Maiden.
