In the year 2002, Zhina was invited to be the session singer for the house version of the song No Limits, which was recorded for a promo Christmas album sponsored by Churchill Insurance in the U.K. under the album cover, Bakshelf Dog. The house version of No Limits, reached number 5 in the UK indie charts. The songs were recorded in France.
She later discovered her real passion for singing and songwriting when she began touring with the retro-rock cover band, The Deep Blue, in Costa Blanca, Spain in 2003.
2005, Zhina moved back to the Philippines for a holiday after a few years of full-on gigging in both France and Spain. And was invited to guest in a concert of singer Lance Raymundo called Light Rock 2, along with Myx VJ Karel Marquez, TV actress Jeni Hernandez, and Samantha May. The concert was a good and memorable experience for the young musician as it was her first time to sing for a Filipino audience.
2006, Zhina is currently recording her 12 track poprock album entitled Black Ice. The album is filled with a melange of mysterious harmony vocals, piano and electric guitar riffs that will send shivers up your spine. She is scheduled to do shows this year with her new band, Scarlet Groove.
Her musical influences would include Led Zepellin, Stevie Nicks of Fleetwood Mac, Garbage, and JPOP.Have you performed in front of an audience? Our band plays live all over Europe. I did one show in the Philippines once. It was at the Music Museum. It's great being able to meet different and really strange people from different countries. Spain was good fun. Mad tourists!!!!
