This band is a side project of Bob Oedy formed after his band The Grim broke up.
The band formed under the name Glü Gun in 1991 in Los Angeles, California; just two years after Bob Oedy's project The Grim broke up in 1989. They started performing concerts in local venues in 1992-1993 and soon signed to Mike Ness (of Social Distortion)'s label Posh Boy Records then released their first album Just Glü It in early spring 1994. The line-up for this era was Bob Oedy (vocals), Jeff Roberts (guitars), Chris Long (guitars), Pete Newbury (bass) and Jeff Edwards (drums).
After the release of their first album, the name Glü Gun was renamed to their current name Glue Gun. All members except Oedy and Roberts were fired or just left the band. The line-up is now Bob Oedy (vocals), Jeff Roberts (guitar), George Snow (guitar), John North (bass) and Jody Kern (drums). Then in 1995, Glue Gun signed to Fearless Records and started recording their second album, titled The Scene Is Not for Sale and was released in March 1996. Some fans believe it is considered to be a critically acclaimed album, but poorly, Glue Gun would never fall into a mainstream success and the band soon broke up.
Years later, Oedy was planning to reform Glue Gun, but every member of the Just Glü It and The Scene Is Not for Sale line-up has refused or didn't want to rejoin. Though the reunion wasn't until late 2005, and Glue Gun's new line-up now consists of Bob Oedy (vocals), Joey Rimicci (guitars), Brian Priess (bass) and Andy Alverez (drums). All same members except Oedy were previously in the hardcore/punk rock band Jughead's Revenge. However, Oedy is now the only remaining former member of the band. There are some rumors that say that Glue Gun should be recording and releasing a new album anytime soon in 2006, which will be the follow-up to 1996's The Scene Is Not for Sale.
