GLITCH

Skullnumbing, hardhitting, orgasmic yet sensual and emotional dark goth-industrial electrocore. Different music for different people.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Combine hard-hitting electronic beats and obscure samples with eerie vocals and crunchy overdriven guitars, throw it in a meat-grinder, and outcomes the sick and twisted world of Glitch. A world created by Christian and Bryan, two guitarists playing behind an orchestra of sequenced percussion, samples and sound effects creating an impressive yet trashy industrialized electronic masterpiece. Amidst all the chaos, Christian's nightmarish vocals are engulfed with special effects all the while telling poetic stories of chemical warfare, sadomasochism, drug addiction and any other controversial topics about the darker side of life. Although the guitar is the instrument of choice, they're not afraid to experiment with other instruments. Glitch formed in June of 1997 and released their first 12 song self-recorded demo within a few months. In November they released a 6 song EP produced by Jason Elgin at Synchromesh studios in Birmingham. Around 1500 copies of the recording have been distributed. Since the time of the recording, Glitch has toured extensively throughout the South promoting their theatrical live show. You'll never know what to expect from them live. Fire blowing jugglers, belly dancers with power tools, candles and television sets litter the foggy stage displaying distorted figures and erratic images of flesh-eating insects. They've opened up for such bands as Hate Dept.,God lives underwater,Crisis,Soilent Green,Choke,SMP,US maple,Pigface, and Luxt, just to name a few. In the summer and fall of '98 Glitch was invited to partake in the side project "Private Hell 66" with members of MFU and Pigface. They recorded a 4 song EP at Progressive Productions in Nashville,TN. The recording was engineered by Kenny Hasty in the same studio Elvis Presley recorded "Heartbreak Hotel". Once again they were back on the road to tour the Southeast. Both Glitch and Private Hell 66 have been included on a Head Sick Rekords compilation entitled "1999 Head Sick Compilation Vol.1-one Year Till....(to be continued)". The widely distributed CD (2000 copies) was put together by Third Degree's Mike Brizendine and features bands from all over the U.S. and Switzerland. In December of '98 they were home for Christmas and played two Toys for Tots benefit shows. They currently rehearse regularly at Ramp 'n Speed skateboard park in Birmingham. In the Summer of '99 Glitch finished their 3rd recording entitled"Imitating moves from canvas screen".The CD is more intricate and complex than their previous works, due to spending more time recording and being more knowledgeable about the recording process. The rest of the year was spent touring the South and Texas. They are soon to be out on the road again promoting their new release.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
All over and anywhere. We thrive on it.It is what sustains us,and drives us.The energy and atmosphere, especially when the crowd is into us.I believe this is why we play,it is a weird high. The special moments would have to be making fans and friends far away from home, that are sticking with us for the long haul.We would like to thank everyone who has ever fed us,let us shower, given us a pair of clean socks or let us sleep on their floor. We are eternally in debt to you..
