Genevieve1
The R&B scene is missing something.... Genevieve's got it. Original lyrics, heartfelt vocals and tones, and emotions brought on by life and actual talent, Genevieve has been doin' her thing for over 10 years and is just waiting to get linked up with the right team to make a dream a reality.
Since she has been doing this completely solo for so long, it's been tough to be able to master all parts of the process on her own, although she stays in practice, beatmakers and/or live musicians are in need.
Check the vibe, feel the rhythm, and let the song bird melt away the hard edges and hold your hand thru a tour of Genevieve's world. Her music is sure to touch you in a positive way... just let her take you there.....
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I've performed on many stages from school talent shows, to scheduled performances to open mics all around Boston and Mass. I've been making demos and recording on my own equipment in my bedroom studio... but hot damnit I need a pro on the beats or a live band to help me carry out my creations.... so many ideas... so little resources. I'm trying to make the best of what I got, and stay searchin' for other ways to get ahead.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Yea I play live... whereever I'm able to... and I love it all
Your musical influences
So many names I can't even list'em all... but first one on the list as always, gotta be Teena Marie... Lady T's just it.... then of course it's Aretha, Al Green, Mary J. (of course recently, she's been makin' me nervous w/ the things she chooses to do, but she's still Mary), Common (Sense), Musiq Soulchild, Badu, Jill Scott, Angie, Alicia Keys, the Commodores, the Chi-Lites, Earth, Wind & Fire, Boot Camp Click, KRS, MC Lyte, Gangstarr, Floetry, underground hip hop and R&B from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s ... dopeness - that's what influences me...
What equipment do you use?
my pen, my notebook, my mic ... in that order.
Anything else?
