Song: The Train
I believe a mere comment is not sufficient for this song (or any of your songs). I could write a book on it, but don't worry I won't do it here. THE TRAIN is a testament to the artistry, depth, and amazing clarity of vision of the singer/songwriter (and so much more)--the awe-inspiring Mr. Gene Thomas.
Gene, you observe life, death, human motivation, and the quest for truth in such layered detail, yet you do it with such literary finesse (this proves in your lyrics time and time again) that I believe many details may escape us at first listen. But that's okay, because we will be back again and again! All this delivered with a voice that simply carries the listener away. Listening to Gene sing... it's like floating down a meandering river on the perfect sunny day, just letting the river guide your course. I thank God for Gene Thomas and the legacy of incredible songs he gives to us. He has many more . All worth the waiting for.
I love you, Gene.

Definitely my 2nd favorite GT song...(You know #1). Gene....Your vocals rip my heart out...lol! Your rare vocal style (which I define as "singing from the heart") is soulful...passionate...heartfelt and magic. It is a rare find and can not be taught. Your style sells the lyrics, makes them real and brings the song home. "Hands On My Heart" brings the listener back to "The One"...That one true love...never to be forgotten. Congrats on this beauty and thanks for sharing Gene T!

Gene, I love all of your songs as they all have great appeal but this song to me is so very special!! It speaks right to the heart of me where I reflect and hope that in my life, like the song "I've Touched Something Good"
