GEE DOT

Shawn G. Dot McKnight was born and raised in Harlem N.Y., G Dot started his career around 1998 when he was an intern at arista records. But before music the only thing that was on dots mind was playing basketball. He played for his high school and also the Gauchos. But sooner than later his dream of playing ball would soon come to an end. His man Tye really was the first one to put him on as far as rapping. Dot came from school one day and Tye told him to come downtown to Def Jam because he had to go meet some A&Rs and audition for them. Dot was so impressed with what Tye did that he decided to pursue being a lyricist himself. After that meeting Dot wrote everyday until his skills had gotten perfected. Every day that I came from school Tye would see me and ask me what did I write today and to let him hear it., I felt that if he was satisfied with the work then I know Im going to be good at this. Next Dot was interning at Arista in the publicity and promotions department. He was around people such as Gwendolyn Quinn, Donna Torrance, Malika Thompson , Ce Ce Mclaredon , David Linton and so on. A couple of months later Dot decided to continue his education and he attended college at SCSU. While attending college Dot was known as the best rapper on campus. Him doing the damn thing at his shows was an understatement, Dot tore the roof off whenever he performed. He was never looked at as a gangster rapper because he did not portray that life style. Dot was more so the ladies man but he could keep it street at the drop of a dime. Dot never finished college, so he decided to return home back to Harlem. He then started to work as a counselor in downtown Manhattan, and thats where he met Otis, the Ceo of Syk Sound Entertainment. After they hooked up dot recorded two songs with Syk Sound and when he came out the booth it was a trail of fire following him. Just when they thought that they had the master plan Dot makes an out of town move which put his career temporarily on hold. After this, Dot bounced back in stride and it was back to business as usual. In conclusion Dot has a real swagger to him that would make the streets love him and have all the kids and the women adoring him. Hes on top of his game and is willing to go hard by any means necessary. To sum it up Dot is everything that you want in a artist. He knows how to spit, work the crowd and make songs. Hes here to represent Harlem to the fullest extent, and if you dont pay attention he is going to take the world by storm. Dot is currently signed with Syk Sound Ent and he is definitely ready for the big league. Nothing will stop me now I feel like im on a roll. Watch out world because G-Dot is the Harlem renaissance... Hes coming!
