Band/artist history
I started singing as a child, joining competitions in church & in school. When I turned 14, I became a member of an R&B teen group named 4 SOUL. At the age of 15, I recorded a duet & a Christmas song under Quantum Records in the Philippines. I also did back-up for Kulay's song "Magbago" for the album "Flavor of the Moment" under Octo-arts Records, also in the Philippines. Anyway, Kulay is the best Funk & Soul band and R&B/Hiphop group in the Philippines. At the age of 18, we started recording for the BUTTA-FLAVA 1 Compilation Album. I became part of this group through Jug Honeyluv who was formerly the singer/rapper of 4EAST FLAVA, one of the Philippine's most known rap groups in the early 90's. She was also my vocal coach and the manager of 4 Soul. After 3 long years, the album is finally out.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
I always sing live everytime I perform (as a solo or as a group member) in clubs, bars, special events, concerts, fiestas, & in special occasions. Performing is one of the most enjoyable things for me to do.
Your musical influences
I love R&B a lot as well as Jazz, Soul, & easy-listening music. Some of my influences are En Vogue, Destiny's Child, Aaliyah, TLC, Sade, Mariah Carey and of course Lea Salonga.
Anything else?
Aside from performing, I also teach voice & stage performance lessons to children as well as adults. I do vocal arranging and I also compose melodies. As a child, I studied a little piano. ================================================== Gazelle is a special kind of performer who automatically and immediately gets the attention of the audience, the moment she sings! She captivates the crowd, whether intimate or party mood, small or large, by the mere sound of her falsetto voice. It gives a feeling of a "cold breeze passing by..." A natural singer, she easily and effectively harmonizes properly during group performances which provides for an impressive sound for everyone she sings with. She possesses a timbre that sounds good for a wide range of style, from Easy Listening to Soul, Contemporary Jazz to R&B, Soft Rock to Pop. However, she prefers to sing R&B which is a positive and wise move on her part, as she possesses the natural ability of an effective Rhythm & Blues singer. Gifted with an unforgettable voice, Gazelle, is truly, indeed, an asset to the Philippine music industry...most especially, to our group! Aside from singing, she is also a good dancer, which makes her a natural and confident performer on stage. She's got the looks, the ability, the desire, the style, and most especially, the talent and aura to make it big someday.
