Gary Travis
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Gary Travis is "Mr. Jukebox" says DC Entertainment. Described as "The King Of Country Love Songs" by Chaplins web site, Gary Travis has been entertaining crowds from Kentucky to Florida for many years as an amateur singer and has done guest appearances with country legends such as Ernie Ashworth, George Morgan and Mel Tillis.
Born in Memphis, Tennessee, where his father sang and played guitar on a local radio station, he quickly developed a lifelong love for country music. Faron Young, Marty Robbins, Hank Williams, Webb Pierce and Elvis all were influential as he developed his own smooth style of singing country. You might hear hints of this influence as you listen to him sing with a voice that is pure country, Gary Travis style.
While his love for singing and entertaining was always there, Gary never "quit his day job" and has had a successful career in the electronics and computer industries. "This gave me a chance to travel and I never missed an opportunity to get up on a stage wherever I was", he says. "Now it's time to get back to my first love, singing country music".
