DEBUT CD NOW AVAILABLE! http://cdbaby.com/cd/garyoconnell Solo Guitarist Illustrator Graphic Designer. Welcome! Over the years, guitar has been a great friend and passion to me. I embrace her by writing original compositions and arrangements, hopefully bringing something new and musically magical to this world. If you like what I offer, feel at home to contact me and share musical ideas, stories or thoughts. As a designer, I also welcome you to visit the website and see my portfolio at http://www.gocreativedesign.ca/ LIVE PERFORMANCE... I have done candlelight wine tasting dinner engagements in downtown Halifax but am now focusing on writing, arranging, recording, and raising a young boy with my wife which I find just as rewarding. PERSONAL MUSIC HISTORY... I started playing R&R at 16. Continued rock/jazz until late twenties. I quit for 8 years and got the bug at 36, took up acoustic and felt the urge to write, then went to nylon string at 42. Although I enjoy pure classical guitar, I consider myself just a guitarist opting to mix genres and techniques. What I create is an honest and personal expression of how I hear music and wouldn’t have it any other way.
