Gary Irving
Gary Irving is a guitarist with English Blues/Americana leanings.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I was asked to perform for a local function, thus ending a thirty year sabbatical. While most musicians take a break from performing after establishing an extended history of performance..I decided to buck the trend..taking mine while I was young enough to enjoy the time away.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I play small venues wherever particularly tone deaf people gather.
Your musical influences
My work has been compared to Nick Drake as well as some traces of early Stephen Stills and James McMurtry(think"Too Long in the Wasteland")
What equipment do you use?
When it isn't at the pawnshop,an Alvarez Yairi as well as an old Guild 12 String,(back when they were awfull)as well as a Fender(Japan) Telecaster.
Anything else?
I would love to record with The Beatles, but am told they pretty much broke up...which seems like a pity to me.
