At time of writing i am 16 years old and have been playing (and doing other weird stuff with) the guitar for roughly 2/3 years now.
I'm very into trying out new kinds of effects and sounds and mixing them all together with over the top cliched rock guitar playing.
well, let me sum up how my music has changed:
i started off playing trashy/thrashy metal riffs without using a pick (i got blisters on my thumb from playing too fast) and plugging the really crappy yamaha guitars from my school into keyboard amps and turning the EQ controls and volume up till they distorted.
then i finally got a decent guitar and amp of my own. i began playing the same riffs but with a decent overdrive sound (thanks to my marshall MG15CD amp) and played lots of punk/metal stuff with odd bits of blues and a bit of classical music thrown in every now and again. i began experimenting with feedback and natural harmonics.
after i broke this guitar i got 2 new ones (a montanna accoustic and a line6 variax) and began to expand into a few different styles. mainly blues and classic rock. i also began experimenting with MIDI composition and software synths.
and to sum up what my music is like now:
tonight (as i'm writing this) i've just been playing the sitar sound from my line6 variax through a wah-wah pedal and treble booster into a philips hi-fi and recording it to add to my collection which also contains a backwards recording of my montanna accoustic against a backdrop of pure sine waves (drone).
i have played live in several different bands ranging from pop to punk and funk and pop through to jazz and metal.
