G2Z is an underground rapper/songwriter/producer originally from Miami, FL, currently in Austin, TX.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started rapping a long time ago in the early 2000s when I was in high school. Took a long break from rapping after 2012. Getting back into songwriting and recording, so look out for some new songs in 2026 and beyond.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Sometimes, but not very often.
Your musical influences
My rap musical influences have varied by decade:
- 1990s - Busta Rhymes - energetic flows, dedicated rhyme schemes, Caribbean and NYC swagger
- 2000s - Eminem - technical rapper extraordinaire, multi-syllable rhyme schemes, rapid-fire flows, courageous and vulnerable song topics
- 2010s - Lil B - quantity over quality rapping, insane mixtape lengths, cult building, self-contradiction of positivity and negativity in his own song catalog, funny to admit this one as a hyper-lyrical rapper
- 2020s - Kendrick Lamar - technical skill, literary and poetic flavor, ambitious album projects, self-mythmaking through music
