BIG MOOK feat. BIG PROOF of D12 (RIP)
Band/artist history
Very few people are able to do what the rapper known as ''BIG MOOK'' can do, and even fewer are willing to take the risks he has taken to be where he is today. Growing up Mook has been a student of hip-hop, he recalls banging on the lunchroom table to make himself a beat, how the other kids would gather around him to hear him rap Shortly after graduating BIG MOOK took his hobby to Fort Wayne Indiana's Sweetwater recording studio and created his first demo. He is just finishing up his independent album "Cheatin Death 2 Win Life" featuring Big Proof from D-12, Obie Trice, as well as unsigned artist from the Midwest. His recognition blessed him to share stages with Fat Joe and the Terror Squad, Freeway, Jadakiss, Lil Flip, Ludacris, Chingy, Obie Trice, D-12, Tech N9NE, Baby Bash, Rap-A-Lot Records Artist, Dopehouse Records tours etc.
After a few mishaps and empty promises from friends in the music industry, he realized that there are few things one can depend on in the entertainment world, so he set out to accomplish his goals with the partnership of his Manager Joe D. Known for his creativeness, there are few areas this artist has not touched upon. After cutting his loses, Mook set out to create himself and others as artist, and feels confident in his own future.
The long road has been key in developing BIG MOOK'S final product . From writing lyrics for his self and others, working on his own CD's, and performing. He is determined to make way in the music industry, often saying, If I cant get a major record deal, I may just have to learn how to start a Record company and sign myself (As he laughs).
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yea I played live. I been on several tours, and opened for several entertainers. I also competed against many artist in the Tri-State and won. After a 2 week competition I won a night to open for Ludacris, Chingy, the DTP Fam, and Tech Nine.
Your musical influences
Tupac, and Big Punisher, hands down.
Then my influences would be Scarface, With and without the Geto Boys, DJ Quik, Eazy E., NWA, Kool G. Rap, Slick Rick, Jay Z., Eminem, Proof from D-12, MC Eiht, Nas. I'm influenced by so many rap artist I can name almost all of them.
Anything else?
Ya'll keep up doing what your doing.
Go at it strong or don't go at it at all.
A ol' head once told me....
Tell me the truth and I'll learn,
Tell me the facts and I'll see,
But tell the story and we both can experience it.
I tatted that on my arm, cause thats what I plan to do with my music till am in the dirt.
Well enjoy the tracks, and I will post new joints every other week.
