Frequency440
Frequency440 is a one man band, i produce all sorts of stuff under different names such as Digital Distorion, Heterogeneous and Misguided Skill. Ive been making music for about 4 years now and recently started to get inspiration for mellow chillout hip hop kind of stuff. i usually try to add my own slice individuallity and like to think i acheive this. I think im still really in the developing stages but hopefully some of the stuff ive been doing will be signed by a small underground label 'A3 records' which have asked me to make a few alterations and they might play it at there next organised night.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
I grew up in London and then about 5 years ago i moved down to Bognor Regis with my aunt, uncle and cousins at the south of the UK. I got into computers more and more deeply as my cousin chris who i was living with is a computer programmer and as i got into them i eventually came across some software named ejay (i know its lame an all but we gotta start somewhere) and with the help of another cousin Mark who had got into music a few years back him self he gave me a copy of Magix Music Studio which was difficult but fun to learn. since then ive moved on alot and now study at Northbrook College doing Music Tech and its great.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
so far i havnt played live but im gonna start organising my live acts once ive finished the album and the rest of my studio.
Your musical influences
My main Music influences actually are HYBRID and ALANIS MORISSETTE but other influences include Chemicial Brothers, Kosheen, Dj Shadow, BT, Way Out West, plump dj's, Placebo, radiohead, boards of canada, lamb, rage aainst the machine. as you can see my main inlfluence comes from breakbeat but i enjoy pretty much all forms of music (probably why i like breakbeat as its such a collage of all music forms)
What equipment do you use?
Im preety much just using my computer at the mo with Cubase SX, Orion Pro, Wavlab 4.0 and various VST's.
