freedom key
freedom key is an ongoing project using found sounds, spoken word samples, and tones to evoke stories. The sounds and samples are the inspiration that guides the rest of the music. freedom key is more an experience; often cathartic, usually soothing.

Your musical influences
My strongest influences are from the ambient sounds and spoken-word samples that initially shape the work. Also, an early background playing in a concert band and, later, conducting one. Music I like to listen to includes Skinny Puppy, Tom Waits, ohgr, Veda Hille, Download, Beck, Ani Difranco, Shadowy Men from a Shadowy Planet, Fat Boy Slim, Moby, Mussorgsky, Debussy, Tchaikovsky, Holst, and many more.
What equipment do you use?
G4 iBook running Logic Audio, Yamaha EX5R, Korg MonoPoly, Roland A30 keyboard, Minidisc recorder for finding sounds, P-II with a Yamaha DSP-2416 running Logic Audio, various bells, whistles, pieces of metal and other noise-makers.
Anything else?
Although spoken-word samples are used, no musical samples of any other artists' work are ever used (ever).
