Freedom Cry
Welome to Freedom Cry's home on Soundclick.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Freedom Cry is a 4 peice rock outfit based in North Wales. We are Mike(vocals) from California, Rob(guitar)and Ryan(drums)both from Omagh in N.Ireland and last but by no means least we have Mace(bass) from Buckley.
We first started jamming in 2003 when Mike (vocals) replyed to a classified add from Rob (guitar) who was looking for a band to play in.
On the first meeting there was as instant chemistry with song writing the first songs to come from this were Bad Ass Girl and Give It Up. Unfortunatly though due to work pressures we hardly got to practice or play together. Next we called in Ryan in 2004 who is an old friend of Rob and has played with him on other projects before including Best Before the End (a bedroom studio experiment and you can hear tracks by them here on sound click) and Dustbite. We got to jam a bit and but not nearly enough and there was no real song writing in this time.
Finally things fell into place when we were joined by Mace (bass) who joined in late July 2005 after being asked to play with the rest of us at Mike's wedding. After a gap of nearly 10 months we got together again and practiced as a full band once before we played at Mike's wedding. This went down so well and we enjoyed it so much that we've decided to continue.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
If and when we can we will. Special moment for us was playing at Mike's wedding in Ruthin Castle, North Wales. the great thing about it is we are the only rock band ever allowed to play there in known history and there isn't going to be another soon.
