Band/artist history
Freddy Black was born to a musical family in Jackson, Mississippi. His father was a child prodigy on the piano and during the boom of soul music in the 60s formed an R&B group. Music was always a part of Freddy Blacks life. He enrolled in the gifted program and learned at an accelerated pace most of his education. His friends would come to call him the Frederick Douglass of the streets. Although he finished high school among the top of his class, Freddy rebelled against the institutional conditioning of college and society in general. He moved to Tallahassee and along with his rap counterpart Cool Cuz Jacuzzi began rocking college crowds at the Cow Haus and The Moon. DJ Madadha gave him his first original beatz. Freddy always knew he wanted to be a writer, artist, and musician so he sharpened his business skills to succeed. In 2005 Freddy and business partner Robert Souris formed a company called Creative Collaborations, LLC in Hollywood, Florida. This company catapulted Freddy into the entertainment industry allowing him to plan special events, write screenplays, and try his hand at shooting his own films. The business team also formed a non-profit organization called The Reel Hollywood Foundation to open doors and provide opportunities for other aspiring individuals with creative talents. Within the first year of business, Freddy had produced a networking benefit and talent showcase with proceeds to benefit the fight against cancer. Outside of music, he was becoming a well known name in South Floridas entertainment world. With the production of Lifestyles the movie, Freddy sank his teeth deeper into the hip-hop scene. As executive producer and writer on the project, he molded the cast from up and coming rappers and singers in the Miami area. With so much energy and attention generated in the game, Freddy Black re-emerged as a premiere rap phenomenon. His rap flow is lyrical, laced with strong metaphorical bars, street visions, and revolutionary themes. His first album Rule By Secrecy is due to hit stores Summer 2007 to coincide with the release of Lifestyles the movie. Also, a new clothing line carrying his name will also be appearing online and in select stores. Keep your eyes on Freddy Black.
