Francesco Scarpa
Tra Cielo e Terra Tra Cielo e Terra
Fender Strat, Line 6 Spider, PC mic. First try with compression and limiter. That's the refrain of a song written by Dhamm, a not so famous Italian rock band. The solo is inspired by the 'menu' tune of the game 'Death Rally'.
Cuts Like a Knife Cuts Like a Knife
Cimar guitar tuned two whole steps down >> MESA/Boogie Studio Preamp (recording outs) >> MosValve MV-962 poweramp >> 'almost homemade' 2x12' cabinet >> crappy PC mic.
Blind Faith (Guitar Rig 2 Test) Blind Faith (Guitar Rig 2 Test)
Fender Strat straight into soundcard (no impedance adapter). Software used is Native Instrument Guitar Rig 2, no particular attention to clipping/limiting so don't expect the best sound quality, that's just an attempt.
High Gain High Gain
The first recording with a decent mic (Shure SM58 without metallic grille) and the Line 6 Spider turned up quite loud (Master on 9 O'clock). Guitar (old Cimar) tuned two whole steps down, double tracked, post equalization to cut some boomy bass.
Iron Theater Iron Theater
Iron Maiden's 'The Wicker Man' meets Dream Theater's 'Honor Thy Father' in a sort of medley I'm going to play with my band in the next gigs. Line 6 Spider mic'ed with a cheap pc mic, post-eq just to take some boomy bass away.
Mein Teil INTRO Mein Teil INTRO
That's the intro of the song 'Mein Teil' by Rammstein, played by me using the line out (it's actually a phones out) of my Line 6 Spider (double tracked).
You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC cover) You Shook Me All Night Long (AC/DC cover)
There's a little part of the begginning of the song with some minor arrangement. Again, Fender Strat and Line 6 Spider.
Pull Me Under Pull Me Under
Here's another short clip of my Line 6. It's part of the intro of 'Pull Me Under' by Dream Theater, my favourite band. Played with a Fender Strat... yes, it is true that these digital modelling amps make every guitar sound so close.
Master Of Puppets Master Of Puppets
Another recording with my Line6 Spider Series I, a cheap Cimar guitar and the cheap pc mic. It's the very first part of Master Of Puppets, best metal song ever to me.
Who Are You (Bridge part) Who Are You (Bridge part)
Recorded with my Line6 Spider and with a cheap pc mic. It's a short take of 'Who Are You'by Set On A Stone, one of my bands (www.myspace.com/setonastone).
All I Want All I Want
This is just an experiment of recording my Line6 Spider with a really cheap PC microphone. The song is an Offspring cover, their best song in my opinion (yes, I sometimes listen to punk too!!).
Death Rally Theme (Rearranged) Death Rally Theme (Rearranged)
MESA/Boogie Studio Preamp rock tone.
Ascesa Ascesa
A short clip for my progrock band 'Ascesa'. Recorded with Mesa/Boogie Studio Preamp (recording outs)
First Song First Song
This is my first experiment with Cubase. All instruments are midi.
