Found Wanting
In August 2003 Craig Beniston and Scott Williams decided to create a new band, which had focus and determination. Craig and Scott had been in a band previously, so they had experience under their wing. Sean Bradley had been taking photos of Scott and Craig’s band and had an interest in their style of music. Scott approached Sean and asked if he would like to be a part of his new band.
The first practice went well, with Scott on guitar, Craig on drums and Sean on Bass. The band had found their own unique sound mixing together punk, rock, and pop. Three songs were written and many cover songs were mastered. Slowly each practice became better and better.
Practice continued for a month but all band members felt that the band really needed vocals. Unsuccessful in their search for a vocalist, the band decided that it would be better off having Craig on the vocals like he had done before in his previous band.
Found Wanting set out on a search for the perfect drummer, after placing an advert with a local drum teacher, the band received a phone call from Andy Latham, saying that he'd seen the advert and would like to have a try out. Found Wanting’s first practice as a whole band was really successful, with Andy having been a drum teacher for 8 months; he gave the bands tips on what drumbeat fits their guitar riffs. It was the first time the whole band realised that they were a musical unit, which could connect so easily.
Found Wanting’s first gig was at a local youth centre in January 2004. The gig was so successful that the band claimed over 50 fans that night; they then headlined every gig they had done after that. The bands were offered studio time at “The Old Smithy” where Ozzy Osborne and Judas Priest had recorded. The guys spent a whole weekend playing and mixing all the songs to come up with the finished product. Found Wanting finally had a C.D they could distribute to their fans all over.
Found Wanting had been together less than a year, and already had a decent growing fan base. With all this already accomplished the band now wants to venture further and make a career out of their musicAll comments (1)
