For the Blind
For the Blind is a band newly formed in Yuma, AZ. With in your face music that blends all sorts of styles: metal, alternative, w/ other experimental genres of music...no matter what it is its badass music
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
This is surprisingly a really long story. See, the root of the band started a while back when it was only Bryant and Chris(brothers). They had the wants of starting up a little something that was different than everything else. One problem though, they were horrid at what they played. Chris had no real drum set, Bryant was playing out of a little amp called the "PMS II" and that's the way it was for a while. As time went on they got better and after months and months of searching for the right addition to the band, David came into the picture. He and Bryant were good buddies having been in the same class for three years straight Bryant proffered David a chance to join them. David was already a vet to the whole experience and agreed to help pop their cherry. Bryant said to him, "Want to make a difference?" David said yes so they got together. Shortly after they formed their sound.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We play shows around town...wherever and when ever. There isn't anything quite like playing in front of people so yeah, we tend to enjoy it quite a bit.
Your musical influences
The Deftones, The Mars Volta, At the Drive-in, Green Day, Jawbreaker, The Smashing Pumpkins, Tears for Fears, The Police, Slipknot, Korn, Primus, Glass Jaw, Poison the Well, Sinai Beach, Mudvayne, Will Haven, Norma Jean, Weezer, Rome is Ours, old skool Incubus, Thrice, Calla, all sorts of jazz fusion, and anything that stimulates that clitoris in your ear...no we're not posers.
What equipment do you use?
Bryant uses an Ibanez of the GAX series six string, and an LTD ESP M-107 seven string, in amp gear he uses a 400 series Peavey w/ some really horrid cabs, and two pedals for his arsenal of sound.
David uses two Ibanez basses:
an old blazer bass and a red bass (the name is a mystery,)he is currently raising money to buy a bass amp of his own.
Chris uses premier: Cabria Series, he uses a bunch of different cymbals, w/ self custom made vented toms, and a mapex piccolo snare.
