Forrest holley
I have been writing songs since 1965. Some of my material has been used in several movies, one of which won the Sundance award in 1998. I like writing and doding demos better than doing live shows
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Began writing songs in 1965. Got my first guitar from the Jewel Tea/Coffee man. I still remember how my fingers use to hurt. I began playing around in several bars and teen joints. Did several appearances on a local TV variety show. Played lead guitar and lead singer in country band for 3 years.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I do live shows occasionaly, but perfer to just do songwriting and demo recordings. Do most at home but have done several recordings in studios.
Your musical influences
Do mostly general country with a touch of Hillbilly rock. Local music critic dubbed ny music as Surf-a-billy music, and it kind of stuck.
What equipment do you use?
Multi-track digital recorder through computer, acoustic and electric guitars, drum machines
