Forgotten Daylight

At Forgotten Daylight, we try to mix all that you folks call "doom metal athmosphere" with oriental melodies and doom/death power and equipment. What is done is a full-length CD, professionally recorded, mixed an mastered at dB Recordings studio, Slovenia. Soon we will find/choose a label to release it.
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Forday (as we use to call our band between us) was founded by Andrew with two friends, Denis and Vitaly. In the beginning the band had different name - Unlimited Brutality, or just ULB. We supposed to play some death/thrash music and were as brutal as we just could imagine ;-). Going this way, we planned to record our first demo approximately by the end of 2002 and fill it with aggressive, primitive and low-melodic (yeah, I would even say "anti-melodic") brutal-death-thrash-something. And suddenly, in the end of summer-2002, everything has changed. Was it a change in our minds, or a result of reviewing our past, or maybe something that I don't remember just stroke my head and caused some psychic processes, but we decided to change our style from death metal to doom/viking metal. The unfinished demo and all materials were forgotten (attention!). We started almost from a scratch. The only thing we had was some experience in death/thrash sound. And, with this weapon, we started to fight on unexplored field of melodic doom music. The first thing we noticed after two months of work was mismatch between our style and our name. It was clear that in our music brutality is limited to almost zero. And that was our first crisis - crisis of genre that stole our inspiration for months. Until the summer-2003 we planned a lot, and talked, and talked, and talked, but have done nothing. No sound came out of our instruments, no words flied from my mouth since autumn-2002. And only in august-2003 we settled down at denis' home for a 2-week record session and recorded our demo. It was never mixed down, except two songs, "The Last Battle" with separate outro called "God Of Sun", and "Siberia". And that was the second crisis - the crisis of everything, and this time things were going really bad. During autumn-2003 and winter 2003-2004 there were no repetitions and nothing was recorded. It seemed that the band without a name no longer existed: But then came the light. A little, narrow ray of hope. Suddenly, a clear understanding of our style and sound and music and everything else came to my head. And - remember that "attention!" mark above? - along with a new philosophy, a new name for the band came too. Since march-2004 we're working hard and doing everything that is possible to bring our new projects and ideas together with experience and previous material to life. What we're making now is a mixture of old good death/thrash and deep, melodic and depressive doom. It's very difficult to bring fire and ice together but that is for what we have been born.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
Only few local performances by now... We want more, but there is a main goal - to release the album, other thinks like live playing management can wait.
