Established in 1984, the Original One and Only FLOPhOUSE has two mottos: "Transients Welcome" and "The reason we're on top of the heap is we play cheap."
Tell me about your history? How did you get where you are now?
Started in 1984 and have continued on a regular basis churning out noise and kinda-sounds-like music with a revolving and sometimes returning cast of transients.
Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
We have played live at clubs, dog training grounds, flea markets, outdoor parties. Now we play live most every Sunday afternoon at Bill's.
Your musical influences
Sun Ra, John Cage, Can, Don Cherry, Coil, End Result, Pere Ubu, Puke Pagans, Capt. Beefheart and His Magic Band, Lord Sutch and Heavy Friends, Zappa, Jimi, Dick Hyman, Hampton Grease Band, Guru Guru, Gong, gamelan orchestras, dripping faucets.
What equipment do you use?
Whatever we can get our hands on.
