Fling was formed in mid-2005 to serve as an outlet for some major angst. We serve a wide variety of audiences, ranging from Big Zincka's girlfriend to a cat named Weeb.
Band/artist history
We started in Zinck's barn in 2005. Then tragedy struck and we had no barn to play in. So we went to a very nice studio in Sommersworth and jammed there for several sessions. We hit our peak at a 4-song guest-appearance gig courtesy of Chafed (www.chafed.com). Thank you Chafed, you guys are all truly Superheroes. Now we are in a finished room in a basement, which is very small, but very nice.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
We played live once, but then the place burned down. (we are not kidding)
Your musical influences
Influences: Radiohead, Weezer, Fountains of Wayne, Beatles, surf music, the smell of yellow paint, air, moss, Kate, levers, thermodynamics, egoists, blue states, Walmart; just like everybody else.
What equipment do you use?
We use the standard equipment; guiars, drums, keyboards, and microphones. Our drummer has a diggerido, as well.
Anything else?
Some of us used to be in a band called The Urge. The last performance of the Urge was at a pool party, under a cabana next to the pool. Late in the evening, people started jumping off the roof of the cabana into the pool. One of the jumps resulted in a torrent of water engulfing the main PA. Most of us then played thru the bass amp. We never played Sympathy for the Devil better than that evening.
