Band/artist history
The songs you are listening to now are real rarities from Five Stroke a band from Germany, Hamburg. Five Stroke was founded in the early 90th by the song writing team Sonja Kaluza (voc + git) and Boris Meise (Dr + Voc + Git). The Sound was placed somewhere between acoustic and phsycodelic rock with a certain touch of melancholy. Sure there was a great influence of Stephan Malicke the guitar player always looking for an additional floaty sound to the track. The pumping bass was played by Michael Klemp. Casually the band added a fingertip of keyboard and vocals by Ronny Troksa, an old friend, to their music.
Right before their break through (an upcoming record deal) the band splitted up. The tracks that you listen to here were demos for the well established edel-company. Missing the blues and It is late were recorded by Jürgen Voss at Highlight Studio (the former Studio of Dieter Bohlen) in Hamburg.
All members of Five Stroke are still performing music in various bands. Boris and Sonja played for a very long time with Midlife Rambler (Soul + Rock www.midlife-rambler.de). Michael and Stephan met later again to play in the Scenario band. www.scenario-music.com.
