Have you performed live in front of an audience? Any special memories?
I've only just started to get my act together for real because Firexit has been a side project since I was like 14. I had a band for many years while juggling part time work, college then university.
Your musical influences
This is a difficult question to answer because I basically start making electronic music before I really knew what it was. I wasn't into the scene at all I essentially come from a classical, rock, hip hop and metal background growing up. When we first got a computer when I was like 14 we had a pc mic. So I started recording different sounds and then manipulating them, then I started to collect different samples and beats. Then I just put it all together and started making songs. It's not until a few years later I heard Apex Twin and Squarepusher for the first time and my jaw just dropped, these guys where essentially doing the same thing as me but they were light-years ahead, the production alone was miraculous. This inspired me to push more in my own direction, my own sound. I dislike the idea of just having one signature sound so I go out my way to make every album I make differ from the last, sound and production wise. Call it evolutionary production; I don't stick to any given electronic style.
What equipment do you use?
Software mainly with a few keyboards and synths. I've started to get into hardware a bit more nowadays.
