Calling both Cincinnati and Springfield, Ohio home, Finiifi's version of power progressive rock can't be ignored. Blending eccentric guitar lines with the rumbling power of bass driven moodiness, seasoned appropriately by a dynamic percussion section that has to be heard and seen to be believed, the band, whose name represents the finite and infinite working in tangent, push the envelope of eclectic music. With an epic soundfront, there was only one way to bridge the gap between the vocals and the music: create something equally as epic. Finiifi, a band geared towards epic storytelling through music and visuals, introduces us to Neenalee, a woman on an ailing planet known as Beslayn, sent against all odds to save her world and her people from the titanic clash between heaven, hell, and space. As the opening song to the first chapter states: "An unfolding story hidden between the pages of time. A momentary crash landing changed everything." And with Neenalee's help, Finiifi hope to change the face of music.
Band/artist history
Band History. I (Warren) was looking on the internet for a bassist and drummer so John (not in the band anymore) and I could get something going. Steve (bassist) emailed me and told me about him and Jesse (drummer) and their equipment, experience, etc. John went and met with them, jammed, said they were great and talented, and I went up later that week. John eventually left, Steve, Jesse, and I went through numerous guitarists before Brad came into the fold and the rest is pretty much history. Pending that nothing happens, this is our line-up for the rest of Finiifi.
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yeah, we play live. We've had 2 shows as of this writing with more lined up. We've done Never on Sundays and the Madison Theatre in Covington, Kentucky. I think all of us like playing live because the songs change, they become even more dynamic and epic live. That and we all tend to do our "thing" when we're live. I think a special moment might be when, after only 2 songs, some guy screamed "YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!" ... he'd never even heard of us but a huge crowd of people agreed with him.
Your musical influences
Our influences are so broad it's insane. Some of my own personal influences are: James Hetfield, Maynard, Trent Reznor, a number of Japanese singers, Lajon Witherspoon, Claudio Sanchez, and Chino Moreno. Our musical influences range, but some that brought us together were: Tool, A Perfect Circle, Deftones, Mudvayne, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Yes, Sevendust.
What equipment do you use?
Dean and Fender guitars, Marshall and Peavey Amps and heads, and I couldn't tell you what drums Jesse plays or the bass Steve has (he changes it every week). We have our own PA set up as well and it's all Mackie with a Yamaha mixer. Pedals are Boss or Ibanez.
